Discover the art of paper-making in this fun, eco-friendly workshop with artist and paper-maker Danielle Phelps. In this 3-hour beginners session, you’ll work collaboratively to learn how to transform paper waste into original, one-off handmade papers. Your tutor Danielle will show you different traditional and contemporary techniques and tools for creating a range of unique papers that you can take away with you. What to expect: - Learn how to make your own bespoke handmade papers by recycling waste materials. - Learn traditional & contemporary paper-making techniques & tools. - Learn to create a range of paper textures and finishes. - Learn transferable skills so that you can make your own papers at home. - Create a collection of unique, one-off papers to take away. Suitable for novices and improvers alike, this fun and creative course is perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about the art of contemporary paper-making! About the tutor: Danielle Phelps is a multidisciplinary artist and workshop facilitator based in Birmingham, working across paper making, printmaking, and animation. Over the past 4 years, she has learnt to make paper by repurposing her own work and collective waste through independent and collaborative methods. Her process is rooted in traditional handmade techniques enhanced by contemporary materials and tools, allowing for the creation of bespoke artist papers. *Please be aware that unknown chemicals can be found in waste paper pulp.
